Ukraine has made its European strategic choice and is not going to reverse it, Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma said, speaking at a European economic summit in Warsaw.

Kuchma called on the EU to make a decision regarding Ukraine too.

"We do not ask much from the EU. We just ask whether the EU wants to see Ukraine in its community. If it does, we would like to see a clear programme with definite timing," Kuchma said.

"I want everybody to understand that uncertainty is the worst thing," Kuchma said.

He complained that Ukraine has not received a single clear political signal that it would be welcomed as a potential full member of the EU.
