Deutsche Telekom (DT) still plans to take over Telefonia Dialog (TD) from copper giant KGHM, according to business daily Puls Biznesu on Friday, May 31. However DT has cash problems, with a debt of nearly 70 billion euros. DT has a minority stake in Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa, Eastern Europe's most successful mobile operator. "The negotiations were suspended a few weeks ago due to lack of agreement over the sum of money DT would be ready to pay for the Polish company," investment advisor Rafal Gebicki said. Analysts estimate the value of TD, which has a 1.23 billion zloty debt, at 810 million zlotys ($200 million).
