Canadian and British investors join forces to defend business interests

Canadian and British investors have decided to join their efforts to strike a long-term co-operation for defending their business interest in Romania.

"Both Canadian and British business communities here are small and therefore we are joining our forces so that officials can hear our voice," said John Saroussis the President of the Romanian Canadian Businessmen Association.

He also said that the new structure will try to smooth the way for new financing in Romanian projects. Canadians show interest for the energy sector, infrastructure, house building and wood processing industries.

There are more than 824 Canadian-Romanian joint ventures with some $67m invested so far. British investments are higher, with more than 1,470 firms operating and with investments totalling $278.4m.
