Poland and Russia agreed on simplified visa procedures, which will specifically be used in case of residents of Russia’s Kaliningrad enclave, situated at the border with Poland.
Poland had to re-introduce visas for citizens of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, under the agreement with the European Union (before the country’s future accession to the Schengen treaty), effective in July, and Russia replied with a similar visa requirement for Poles travelling to Russia.
Earlier, Poland had reached agreement with Ukraine, under which Ukrainians travelling to Poland would have to be issued Polish visas (free of charge), but Poles would be allowed to visit Ukraine without one.
