Gdynia-based IT company Prokom has been excluded from the consortium that is participating in the tender to build TPSA's financial-accounting system, a contract worth around zl. 100 million.

Such a course of events had not been expected, as Prokom TPSA currently uses the older version of Prokom's ERP subsystem, a fact which seemed to be of prime significance for its former partners in the consortium - IBM and Andersen Business Consulting. "I don't know what the reasons are, but Prokom is not participating in this consortium any more," said an anonymous source close to the tender.

As a result, the victory of the other leading short-listed player, Computerland teamed with French Schlumberger Sema, is more probable.

The latter company has an advantage of having implemented the financial-accounting systems for TPSA's strategic investor, France Telecom.

If Computerland manages to win the tender, this would mark the first important success for the company this year, as it has been defeated by Prokom or its subsidiary Softbank, in the main corporate sector tenders.
