Leszek Miller and Vladimir Spidla discuss preparations

Prime Minister Leszek Miller and his Czech counterpart Vladimir Spidla agreed at their meeting in Warsaw on Wednesday that the central European countries seeking entry to the EU should co-ordinate their preparations and holding of national referendums on EU accession, the local media reported. "We agreed that the referendums both in Poland and in the Czech Republic should be co-ordinated, that we should exchange information and study the methods used to inform the public," said Miller. This is in line with the decisions made at the recent meeting of the presidents of the Vysegrad Four countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. The two premiers stressed that relations between the two countries are very good and tension free. Spidla, who was on his first foreign visit as prime minister, thanked Poland for assistance it has provided following the recent floods.
