Voting in the European Parliament elections ended in Hungary with all the 10,871 polling stations closed at 7 p.m yesterday, with Fidesz flying high (at the time of going to press).
More that 8 million voters were eligible to vote for a choice of eight party lists to elect 24 members of the 732-member legislative assembly of the EU.
However, the Hungarian National Alliance submitted a protest against the election results, party chair Gyula Balogh said.
The party requested that the committee void election results and schedule a new and legal vote because the public media had excluded and discriminated against it in the campaign.
