Two people were seriously hurt and six others injured yesterday afternoon, when an explosion rocked a tram in front of Nyugati Railway Station in Budapest.

The blast was caused by a of container acetone peroxide, which one of the passengers was carrying. He was seriously hurt in the blast. MTI learned from police that a starter pistol was also found, and any terrorist connection has been ruled out.

The man said that he was carrying the chemical because he was afraid of being attacked.
