CPC has signed an oil transportation agreement with CNPC-Aktobemunaigas, CPC press service informed. In May CPC started the transportation of oil extracted by Kazakhoil-Aktobe and KazMunaiGas. CPC has also signed an oil transportation contract with Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.
On 25 June, the pipeline loaded its 180th tanker since the start-up of its operations in October 2001. CPC has shipped 18.9mn tons of oil to world markets. The monthly oil transportation volumes are continuously soaring and are presently as high as 1.2-1.3mn tons per month.
Russia holds a 24% stake in CPC, Kazakhstan -19%, Oman - 7%. Private shareholders of CPC are Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company - 15%, Lukarco B.V.-12.5%, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Venture Ltd - 7.5%, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company - 7.5%, Agip International N.V. - 2%, BG Overseas Holding Ltd - 2%, Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC - 1.75% and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC - 1.75%.
